Hi there… I’m Katie- the chick behind This Chick Cooks. Thanks for coming by. Here’s a bit of info about my journey into the world of real, whole foods and traditional eating.
For the past 5+ years or so I had considered myself a healthy eater, trying to eat according to the government’s food pyramid and consuming a low fat diet. Yet I found myself feeling run down and tired a lot.
Fed up with feeling low-energy, and having been tested by the doctors and told everything is normal and it must be in my head, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I cut out white flour, white sugar and focused on eating more whole foods.
After having these changes implemented for a number of months, I can honestly tell you that I have not felt this good in years and I have absolutely no plans of returning to eating according to the societal norm.
I’m on a mission to learn more about healthful eating day by day and broaden my palate as I go. Basically, I’m going back to the basics trying to focus on natural, whole foods and avoid processed items such as white sugar, white flour, high fructose corn syrup etc…
