Who knew making your own eggnog is as simple as throwing a few ingredients in the blender? Use milk or cream along with egg yolks, vanilla, spices and a bit of syrup. This delicious beverage is a tasty and rather nutritious wintry treat to enjoy any day. This recipe came from Lindsay over at Passionate Homemaking and was slightly adapted to taste. If you’ve never visited Passionate Homemaking, you’ll want to stop by, as she shares about natural and intentional living with a Christian twist.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup raw milk or cream (cream will make a thicker eggnog)
- 2 egg yolks (raised on pasture, from a trusted source)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (Easy DIY Vanilla Extract)
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or honey in a pinch)- We love grade B as it is higher in nutrients
- 2-3 ice cubes
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until ice cubes are totally blended. Serve topped with a dash of nutmeg, if desired.

You know it’s the holidays when the eggnog rolls out!
Yummy! Can this be made using coconut milk instead?
Sure, it just won’t have that traditional eggnog taste. But, I bet it would still be yummy :)
Thanks Katie! Im sure it wont, gosh I miss Eggnog since it was a childhood pleasure at Christmas. My daughter would love to try some but I do not have ability to get raw milk at this time. I will pin your recipe for when that time comes. :)
On the list for a brakfast surprise tomorrow!
Many blessings

I LOVE eggnog but can’t bring myself to buy it in the store…I think I’ll make this and show my hubby that it’s really good!
My hubby it the eggnog connoisseur around here and he really enjoyed the flavor of it. I actually liked it too, and I don’t normally care for the store bought eggnog :)
New fan here from Frugal Days. This looks so good. I will definitely be trying it. If you haven’t already, I would love for you to come visit me at Fresh Eggs Daily and share at my weekly Farm Girl Blog Fest: http://fresh-eggs-daily.blogspot.com/2012/12/farm-girl-friday-blog-fest-12.html
