It’s time once again for the Secret Recipe Club (read more about the club). This month my assigned blog was Paulchens’ Foodblog. Upon finding her very berry lassi I was intrigued. A lassi is a traditional indian drink made with yogurt that can be either sweet(with fruits, and sugar) or savory (flavored with ground cumin). This recipe is for a blueberry lassi using mint freshly picked from the garden.
This sweet version of a lassi is similar to a smoothie and combines blueberries, mint, yogurt, and milk. It was perfectly sweet for us, but you could add a bit of local honey to sweeten to taste. It’s a perfect refresher for a hot summer day.
A few other drinks to beat the heat:
- Beets and Berries Smoothie
- Strawberry Lemonade Smoothie
- Cold Brewed Coffee
- Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie Recipe Good Enough for an Ice Cream Store
- Mango Banana Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 8-12 fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 cup yogurt (full fat is best)
- 1/4-1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a blender starting with only adding half of the milk. Blend until leaves are well cut and add more milk until your desired thickness is reached. Serve garnished with mint, if desired.

Looks refreshing! I drink smoothies made with yogurt often. Love them!
This looks so good, beautiful! Yum! I love the color!
I have not seen blueberry and mint in a smoothie yet! Would be very curious to try! The pics are beautiful! Great choice for SRC!
Thanks :)
Wow, these sound amazing! Going to try them tomorrow.
I love mint lassi and make it often during the summer. Yours with the blueberry, though I can’t have it due to a blueberry allergy, sure looks delicious and the color is gorgeous.
If you haven’t already, I’d love for you to check out my SRC entry Double Chocolate Mousse Cake

Looks like a cool way to start the day. I haven’t made one of these in ages. Thanks for reminding me I like these. Love that served them in little jars.
You’re welcome, Margaret. Everything is better in jars, isn’t it? :)
