Blueberry and Mint Lassi

It’s time once again for the Secret Recipe Club (read more about the club). This month my assigned blog was Paulchens’ Foodblog. Upon finding her very berry lassi I was intrigued. A lassi is a traditional indian drink made with yogurt that can be either sweet(with fruits, and sugar) or savory (flavored with ground cumin). This recipe is for a blueberry lassi using mint freshly picked from the garden.

This sweet version of a lassi is similar to a smoothie and combines blueberries, mint, yogurt, and milk. It was perfectly sweet for us, but you could add a bit of local honey to sweeten to taste. It’s a perfect refresher for a hot summer day.

A few other drinks to beat the heat:

Blueberry and Mint Lassi

1 serving

Blueberry and Mint Lassi

  • 1/2 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
  • 8-12 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup yogurt (full fat is best)
  • 1/4-1/2 cup milk

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender starting with only adding half of the milk. Blend until leaves are well cut and add more milk until your desired thickness is reached. Serve garnished with mint, if desired.
