Strawberry Refrigerator Oats and Pouring My Heart Out

Good day to you! I get such a pleasure from sharing recipes with you. There’s something about experimenting to come up with a new recipe that is just exhilarating to me. And, what makes it even more special is when I can share a recipe from my own home that I serve to my family, and then hearing back from you, my wonderful readers about how much you enjoyed it.

I was on Facebook and saw a blog post from one of my very first bloggy pals, Jen over at The Misadventures of Mrs. B. She wrote all about blogging “for your audience” and how we as bloggers can easily get caught up in sharing what we think that you, the readers, want to see. She is struggling with the issues of switching over to a new diet and is afraid taking the plunge to blog about the new recipes she makes that are so much different from her classic fare.

That surely strikes home with me. If you haven’t been around too long, you might not know that I originally blogged mostly about sugary, white flour laden treats and existed on a low fat diet that I thought was good for me. Then, last year I made a life changing transition to a diet composed (mostly) of real foods. I was also afraid of taking the plunge. What if my readers all left once I transitioned to blogging about healthy stuff?

I don’t know how many of my original readers are still here, but I wanted to say a sincere thank you to everyone who has stuck around through this real foods journey  (and those who have joined along the way!), because it really has been a journey and a gradual change that I’ve made bit by bit. Y’all are so special to me and I have truly enjoyed sharing recipes with you. It has been so nice to share my passion for healthy eating with all of you who are right there with me.  Hopefully we can all glorify God through our choices in the foods we eat and serve our families, taking our best care, so that we may have a better temple for serving Him.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”   – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Thanks so much to everyone for coming along for the ride :) And, hope you enjoy this refrigerator oatmeal! It is truly easy and delicious to boot, a great way to use up the seasonal berries!
