No Bake Cookie Smoothie (Chocolate, PB and Oats)

It’s time for The Secret Recipe Club and my assigned blog this month was Cookin’ Mimi (not sure what the SRC is?). Upon visiting Mimi’s blog I knew that I had to make the no bake cookie smoothie. My mom made no bake cookies for us when we were kids so thinking of turning it into a smoothie would be like a trip down memory lane. In case you’re not familiar with no bake cookies, they’re a mouth watering, delicious combo of peanut butter, chocolate and oats that turn out to be kind of like fudge cookies that are prepared on the stovetop.

So, the smoothie version of no bake cookies has peanut butter, oats, milk, cocoa powder, ice and just a bit of honey for sweetening.  I slightly adapted Mimi’s delicious looking recipe to use cocoa and honey in place of chocolate syrup. They are really not too bad for you, considering there is only one tablespoon of sweetener added, and a batch makes enough for 2 people. When I served these smoothies up to the boys, there was one comment: I want these again! Thanks for the winning recipe, Mimi! These chocolate peanut butter smoothies are a great way to beat the heat when it is too hot to turn on the stove for no bake cookies. Good enough for an ice cream store peanut butter banana smoothie is another one of our all-time favorite smoothies :)
