It’s time for The Secret Recipe Club and my assigned blog this month was Cookin’ Mimi (not sure what the SRC is?). Upon visiting Mimi’s blog I knew that I had to make the no bake cookie smoothie. My mom made no bake cookies for us when we were kids so thinking of turning it into a smoothie would be like a trip down memory lane. In case you’re not familiar with no bake cookies, they’re a mouth watering, delicious combo of peanut butter, chocolate and oats that turn out to be kind of like fudge cookies that are prepared on the stovetop.
So, the smoothie version of no bake cookies has peanut butter, oats, milk, cocoa powder, ice and just a bit of honey for sweetening. I slightly adapted Mimi’s delicious looking recipe to use cocoa and honey in place of chocolate syrup. They are really not too bad for you, considering there is only one tablespoon of sweetener added, and a batch makes enough for 2 people. When I served these smoothies up to the boys, there was one comment: I want these again! Thanks for the winning recipe, Mimi! These chocolate peanut butter smoothies are a great way to beat the heat when it is too hot to turn on the stove for no bake cookies. Good enough for an ice cream store peanut butter banana smoothie is another one of our all-time favorite smoothies :)
Ingredients
- 1 heaping cup of ice cubes
- 2 tablespoons rolled oats (or quick oats)
- 2-3 tablespoons peanut butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 heaping tablespoon cocoa powder
Instructions
- Add oats to blender.
- Process until they are fine and powdery.
- Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Makes 2, 8 ounce servings.

This sounds delicious! I can just imagine enjoying it on a hot summer afternoon, to satisfy my chocolate and cookie cravings when I don’t want to turn on the oven.
I’ve never had the no-bake cookies, so now I want to try those AND this smoothie!
You’ve got to try no bake cookies. They’re so yummy! And of course the smoothie as well :)
I’ll have to try this smoothie! A “family favorite” cookie since I was a Brownie:)
The smoothie is of course different than the cookies, but it is a must try if you’ve always loved no bake cookies :) Good to hear from you, Sue! Hope you’re well!
oooh what a great smoothie!
Your smoothies talked to me all month, and I thought about posting that pb smoothie good enough for the ice cream shop…but I got hooked on garbanzo beans….lots of them! I enjoyed your blog!
Thanks so much, Susie!

You’re very welcome, Becky. Hope you enjoy it!
This was delicious! I used 1 scoop of Chocolate SuperGreens + 1/2 T of cocoa to add a little extra nutrition. My girls had this for breakfast and loved it. Would be great with frozen banana instead of ice too, I bet. Thanks for this yummy idea. I like that the oats make it more filling.
Looks fantastic! Here from Ultimate Recipe Swap. Pinning these :-)
Thanks, Steph! It is delish. Have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by.
Jut made this! It’s delicious; thanks.
Awesome :) Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved the recipe. I think this is one the kids will love as well!
Oh my gosh!!!! I only used 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and added 1 tablespoon of dark chocolate. So good!
I just made these, and they were really amazing! Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome!
I made this as a treat for my daughters tonight, and we all loved it! My oldest is allergic to bananas, so it’s nice to find recipes without them. :-)
