We’re enjoying a bit of hot weather here and what better way to take advantage than to use up some of our pumpkin puree to make a fall themed smoothie? Honestly my husband and son were having chocolate smoothies with protein powder and I wanted to come up with a delicious smoothie for myself using all real food, natural ingredients. When I gave the little guy a taste he gave me two thumbs up and said it tastes like pumpkin pie smoothie.
Smoothies are so easy to make, which is part of what helps make them awesome in my book. All you need to make one of these is pumpkin puree, banana, milk, cinnamon and add just a touch of raw honey if you desire.
Healthy Pumpkin Pie Smoothie Recipe makes 1 serving
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1 banana sliced (and preferably frozen if you like a thick smoothie)
1/2 cup milk
a dash of cinnamon to taste
1 teaspoon of raw, local honey (optional)
Combine all ingredients and blend on high until it is smooth. You may add more milk 1 Tablespoon at a time as desired if it is too thick.
See you soon,
